Last Dawn Showcase

Last Dawn is a game about surviving in a zombie infested world. Taking place from a side-on perspective the game features many elements of both platform and action games. The game focuses around the day/night cycle, hence the name, where the player scavenges for supplies during the day when zombies are less frequent, then returns to base at night to defend from the zombie hordes until you are rescued.
The game was made entirely by first year University of Western Australia Computer Science student, Scott Kerr, who built on an engine made from scratch over a period of months. It was made for the 2007 "Interzone Nullarbor" Australian Game Development Competition and won 5th place.
