That time of year is coming up again. It is soon time for PGD's annual competition and with that, I am pleased to annouce that on Jan 15th, 2006 the 2006 PGD Annual Game Development Competition shall commence!
The competition rules shall be released on the morning(GMT) before the start of the competition.
We will be allowing teams or individuals much like we did last year. Releasing your source will be optional however you will be required to submit a packaged executable with all game files for the targeted platform(s) supported.
Prizes, judges, rules and all further needed information will be posted within a weeks time before the start date of competition. For now, I suggest gathering your teams, tools and ideas for Jan 15th. Contest will be running for a total of 16 weeks, ending on the May 7th where we will award the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners with their prizes. We will also be honouring those in the competition that show great ability in specific areas of development.
We have high hopes for a fun competition and it should be a very successful event for 2006. Stay posted for further information as it comes.

Would be a good idea, there might be some pascal codes on GameDev.net who don't know about this site.... I know Dom usually posts on the borland news groups and forums as well.

I know there are a few Delphi coders at http://www.retroremakes.com. They might be inclined to have a go at it as well.

I've posted to GameDev.net, but as usual they are dragging their feet. On the other hand, they have posted about us before so... I have posted on DevMaster.com though. They were quite quick about it too. I've also posted to ModPlug.com about the contest and the site. I hope that this will bring more musical tallent to the site aswell as the competition. So whats the link to the forum topic?

I'll post on afterwarp.net about this too (and make a permament schedule link). It seems we are getting more activity there than here on PGD :?

So whats the link to the forum topic? You can read it here - http://groups.google.co.uk/group/borland.public.delphi.graphics?hl=en . Hmm I just noticed a typo. I also posted the same thing to the kylix.graphics group. Tonight I'll post on the GLScene list and also Nehe.

It seems we are getting more activity there than here on PGD :? Hmm... forum posts maybe, but certantly not traffic. PGD averages at about 10,000+ visits a month. All shy, I guess. :? It'll pick up a lot during the competition. savage: Excellent Dom! Keep slamming away those news lists and other forums. Next week hopefully we'll have some of the banner graphics to put up everywhere.

I just announced it over at the german Delphi OpenGL Community. It has a rather big audience and hopefully some people from over there (maybe including me ) will take part.

Thanks Sascha! I'd be very happy to see you compete this year (well this 2006). You know who else I'd like to see compete this year also? Tom Nugyens and/or Sulico(McClaw). This year should be a really good one. I'm hoping for even more competitors(and teams) than last year. Hmm... I also wonder if the DGDev Team will be making an entry this year. They had 2 last year.

There's a good chance that I will enter, but my entry most probably wont have sound (The sound engine is a mess at the moment)
