Intel and "The Game Creators" have launched a program that calls for game developers to develop games for the netbook (EEE anyone ?) platform.
Some might want to participate in this competition:...
Capturing DirectShow Overlays from various movie players and games seems to be quite tricky so that many companies will sell you very expensive apps to do this.
How could one capture the screen...
Can you explain how does it work a bit, it seems to give some other coordinates than it's suppose to.

I was wondering if there is another (fast) way of knowing on wich tile of a terrain i click with the mouse.
The problem is this, i have a Heightmap file from a game wich is let's say 200x150 i...
Well it's all quite clear, if you aren't too lazy and you want CrossPlatform support and you don't want to be addicted to MS the OpenGL is your choice, if you only want to code for Win and don't care...
The old Delphi separator feature, set it in Control Panel or add a line at the begining of the project specifying the separator :)
When the new style installer will be available wich compiles Laz on install then will be nice to have even more components without adding extra "bloat".
I don't think MS will axe their own API but at least for OpenGL they might cause some temporary troubles, in the worse case we will see those old-fashioned driver+OpenGL dlls again wich won't need...

Seems to be included by FPC too (did a search in files) :)
From what i know a .NET app is half the speed of a win32 native executable, i don't know about MONO but this is reason enough to stay away from it, also many goodies like powerful(real) pointers for...
Sorry for the late reply.
I didn't find any bugs with the delphi3d TGA2 loader wich is also quite fast so you must be talking about the old one, also Zanthos's loader doesn't seem verry advanced...
I'm one of the guys for wich debugging didn't work for quite some time, now it works "out of the box" i don't set anything and it just works, try getting the snapshot from...
This kind of Desktop would be much more useful and easier to make for Linux, remember that X is just the window manager and can use GL, also it's organised in such a way that making a Desktop is...
I didn't knew about the larger number of registers but i know that the 64 bit apps will run faster on 64 bit CPUs and you will have access to huge memory amounts and possibly larger data types, the...
Lately it was discussed adding options to the win32 installer for DB support, maybe even compile at install, this could also be use to select Graphics stuff, the GL headers are there, we only need to...
IF they can make Operating Systems in FPC like DelphineOS and others why wouldn't they be able to make drivers, in Linux driver making seems not to be verry hard, in windows you can make drivers even...
This one was old even when i saw it (i haven't been reading the forums lately). The band wich made the song is called Ozone and they are from Moldova but they speak Romanian, the song is quite funny...
From what i've seen on #fpc it seems FPC's x86 code is more optimised than the PPC code and if Apple will swich to X86 the apps will run faster and let's not forget they will be smaller because x86...
A simple and funny game, quite enjoyable :)
I'm for Apple having an x86 port, i don't think they will just drop PPC, remember there are already Cell Processors and even XBOX 360 seems to have 3 PPCs inside.
On the Kylix and Delphi64 issue i...
That's cool. : )[/quote]
Verry nice pictures.
Are you in the competition for the smallest text  i barely saw something.
Packages are a hard thing to do but lately we have discussed about $R even if the team isn't really interested, it seems we can add any data at the end of the ELF executables wich is great, this...
Clootie you are right in principle but there are simply too big differences between FPC and Delphi so this project is not possible, for a start FPC doesn't support packages (Laz recompiles itself),...
