    Multiplexity: The Lost City

    Hi everyone.

Just like the others I have started this (b)log for my entry in this year competition. Here I will post my progress on the game and I hope to get some feedback from you.

    About the game:
The working title is "The lost City". It is going to be FPS/puzzle game with the FPS part in the spirit of "Thief - The dark project". The player will control an adventurer who wants to plunder the mysterious "lost city" built under the mountain range. The aim of the game is to loot as much you can and find a way out from the city. Unfortunately the city is full of hostile creatures, deadly traps and puzzles to solve, so this task will not be easy one.

    Some more details:
There will be (allmost) no fighting. The creatures will be too strong for player. So be warned: If they see you and catch you then you are dead. Player will have to sneak around them or lure them into the trap. Maybe I will add the possibility to kill some enemies by using ranged weapons.

There will be two categories of puzzles which can be described as:
    - how do I open this stupid door
    - how do I get rid of that nasty golem blocking my way.

I am a bit afraid if this project is not too ambitious for me, but for sure it will be fun making it.

    That's all for now.

Woohoo! A Thief-like game! That'll be fun. (I'm a big fan of their series.)

I'll be watching your project for sure.

    Hey nice!

Though I think it's more of a First Person Stealth / Puzzle game. Thief was very much stealth game, btw.

But I like the concept. Good luck in the competition!

Yeah that sounds cool... i'm already lookin forward to the result

I like the "stealthy sneaking around" concept very much....
I think the enemy AI is crucial in this case, Enemy's need some kind of "field of view" so you can run to the next hideout when they are looking in an other direction.
Some kind of sniper weapon (or e.g a crossbow) would be very nice indeed.

Good luck with this project.. hope it will be a succes.
Coders rule nr 1: Face ur bugz.. dont cage them with code, kill'em with ur cursor.

Good luck . I like the stealth, but I think you should add ranged weapons for some reason

Awesome! I really want to see how it comes out, the idea is brillant!
It could end up very challenging to program, so Get to work!

My apologies for not responding earlier.

As You have probably already guessed I am out of the competition. Along with competition entry I had to work on my PhD thesis, and at some point it was impossible to do both at the same time. I have overestimated my ability to do those two things at the same time.

So, good luck to the others. I will try again in next year competition, hopefuly with better result.
