    .NET

How pissed would Borland and Microsoft get if FPC started supporting .NET?

I mean, there is already 1 alternative to using .NET called Chrome. And it uses 2.0 not just the 1.1 model either. So in theory it's a wee bit more .NET capable than Delphi 2005 is. Mind you Microsoft is probably loving Chrome, simply because it in a way helps promote Visual Studio. I just love it because it promotes Object Pascal!

So how much pain sacarafic and blood would it take to add .NET support to FPC? I wonder...

    Can I dare to dream?

FPC team do not currently plan ant .NET code generator for compiler.
And why? FPC is already cross-platform (way-way larger than .NET) and so it will not be able to fully use .NET unified type system, so the only feature FPC could gain is the garbage collector...
There are only 10 types of people in this world; those who understand binary and those who don't.
