Hello there,

It is often a problem, that OpenGL games in fullscreen mode (under windows) have strange flickering. DX Gamers had the same problem on early XP, but there are a lot of tools that solve it fine.

I just visited the homepage of venom (http://www.venomsoftware.de/technology.htm), read through, and began thinking about adjustable HZ rates..
Do you know any tool, to adjust the GL refresh rate ? I want to provide a short info about it in the readme.txt that comes with my programs.

Or does anybody know how this can be done by OpenGL ?

Win XP force you?¢_Tre applications to use 60Hz refresh rate, it shouldn?¢_~t cause flickering, but does tire the eyes. Flickering (or rather tearing) is caused by not using VSync. You can control VSync from you?¢_Tre application, but it should usually be left to decide for the user. NVIDIA drivers can override both VSyncing and refresh rates, I?¢_Tm not sure about ATI drivers.

thank you, Paulius. I discovered that vsync was disabled by default. 8)
