Hell-o!

The page looks nice but the color of links definitely needs some "quick fixing"...

All links should now be more readable.

Uhh... Not yet. They still appear to be "beer" yellow.

Make sure you are not seeing the cached version of the site that your browser may be using. I have refreshed and it appears blue to me.

Ahhh.... Better, though the highlighted links are olive

I hope that by the time you move the mouse over the link you know what it says :). My fix was just a quick one. I believe that Traveller is looking at the asthetics of the site overall, so there may be more improvments on the way.

The pure blue links now work better on everything but the dark blue striped background. For example, the page links (1, 2, Next) and the links at the bottom of each page (NewsBar, NewsTicker). Bright blue on dark stripey blue is not a good contrast.

What does look good is the 'Topic review' section below the 'Post a reply' bit I'm typing in right now. Everything is clear and easy to read on the white/pale blue background.

I've received word from WILL about my latest fixes, but it seemed he made changes too which conflicted with mine.

I'll have another look at it this weekend.

Hi Traveller,
When do you plan to make the visibility changes?

When do you plan to make the visibility changes?

I don't know if I have the time to look at them today. Tomorrow is more likely.

np, just let me know if you want me to do anything.

The links in messages (using the url tag) are the same colour as the rest of the message text, ie. black, making the links invisible unless you wave the mouse pointer over it. Only then does it change colour and get an underline.

Traveller or WILL, is it possible to associate the standard site link colour to the phpBB url tag?

I'll have a look at this when I get back from work.

Update on my last message. It's going to take a couple days longer. WILL and I need to sync our files first, before I can make updates.

So is fizing link color still on the to-do list or what?

Traveler

I think its still on the to-do list, but yes I do think we have to give this one a higher priority.

I have always used the full URL instead of the [ url ] tags because the full URL is automatically made into a link that is not black. :)

Which is the easiest to use, I agree, however, it is exactly that color that needs changing, because its so hard to read.
Unfortunately its not so easy as a simple css change. Unless we want all other links to change color as well.

Maybe we could try a different colour for a few days (even if it does mean changing all the links) and change it back if it doesn't work out?

Thats an option yes, but with WILL gone we can't do much atm.
Alternatively when posting links you can also use both url as underline buttons.

ie [u][url=http://www.google.com]like this[/url][/u] would show like this (http://www.google.com)

I never thought of that before. What a silly bunt.

I thought the word filter would have got that one

WILL

 we have no word filter. :) This is a 100% R rated site! With PG-13 rated standards... ;)

As for the links... well... me and Traveler have been needing to get some work done on the scripting and some of the finer graphical points for some time. I plan on taking some time from my leave over the next 2 weeks to put it towards this endevour. In short; Link colors shall be fixed! :)

Monty Python. The Travel Agent Sketch.

Tourist: Yes. I saw your advert in the bolour supplement.

Bounder: The what?

Tourist: The bolour supplement.

Bounder: The colour supplement?

Tourist: Yes. I'm sorry. I can't say the letter 'B'.

Bounder: 'C'?

Tourist: Yes, that's right. It's all due to a trauma I suffered when I was a sboolboy. I was attacked by a bat.

Bounder: A cat?

Tourist: No, a bat.

Bounder: Can you say the letter 'K'?

Tourist: Oh yes. Khaki, king, kettle, Kuwait, Keeble Bollege Oxford.

Bounder: Why don't you use the letter 'K' instead of the letter 'C'?

Tourist: What ... spell bolour with a 'K'?

Bounder: Yes.

Tourist: Kolour. Oh, I never thought of that. What a silly bunt!
