Hi, how can i install more fonts under Gnome ? Can it read windows font ?

SDL_ttf can read True Type Font files under Linux, so I assume it must be possible.

Some newer Linux distros like Mandrake 10 have a font importer for windows fonts so it's possible, i even used Arial and other win fonts.

a point though, Kylix spends an age doing it's "Generating Font Matrix" thingy, especially if you have windows fonts installed.

Yes, Linux can use the windows ttf fonts. Just copy them to your fonts directory. For me that's:

/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/TTF/

You may have to rebuild the fonts index:

fc-cache /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/TTF/

although I think you can specify this path in your xorg.conf file.
