Complete 3D engine written in Delphi using DirectX 9.0b

DigitalOmerta?¢,¬¢ is entirely designed and programmed by ourselves. It is the first commercial available Advanced 3D Engine written in the fully object oriented Borland Delphi language.

They are also planning to bring out games for the XboX also

(maybe a good item for a news post :) )

Looking good enought :D
But it's impossible to create Xbox games using Delphi. And Xbox2 is using PowerPC deriviative, so it's even more impossible.

It will certainly be added as a news item. Looks very good indeed.

Instead of going for XBox, they should have gone for Linux and MacOS X :)

As an Xbox developer, I can say with great certainty that Delphi can not produce Xbox executables.

Do you suspect that they are going to be using another compiler? Or have they developed their own compiler? It would be possible IF you can use DLLs on XBox, then you'd be able to compile DLLs using Delphi and use those...?

The SDK for the Xbox (called the XDK) provides Xbox-specific libraries that must be linked to the application. You cannot link to these libraries directly from Delphi. The version of DirectX 8 used by the Xbox is also slightly different to the version of DirectX 8 used by PCs.

That explanes a lot :)

Well isnt it entirely possible that they used the source from xbox linux for all the drivers and xbox specific stuff to come up with their own XDK for Delphi

But then you would never be able to publish the game through commercial channels. Each and every game released for Xbox must go through Microsoft certification, which checks that it was created with the latest and correct XDK. The same process applies for PS2 (must use the required version of the Sony libraries and get approval by Sony) and GameCube.
