Hi all,

Over the last 5 days or so there has been an interesting discussion going about game programming and landscapes at DelphiSanctuary the home page for Omega.

I know PGD doesn't have much action for Omega but it is interesting stuff regardless of which GFX engine you use.

A few demos are now available including source code.

Lots of interesting stuff about shading and placing of sprites on a landscape etc.

Thanks for pointing it out. Some very cool stuff in there. Dan's game looks very nice and so does everyone else's.

Please tell the Omega developers to drop by here and let us know about their projects, that way we can post news items about them and its better exposure for all concerned.

Yes, the new samples are indeed very good.

And my Omega project is already listed in the Projects thread, it will have some Update soon with Czars and Dans new ideas.

I would like to have ogg support for Omega, can anybody give me a sample or tell me how to play an ogg file with Directplay?

Thanks,
Firle

There are now two 3d landscape example programs with source available. They include sprites that move around the landscape. The basics are there to make a really cool game.

Check them out here

I would think it would be quite a good idea to convert these to Asphyre or some other gfx library.

For some screen shots of the two engines checkout
