For those out there using FreePascal ('http://www.freepascal.org'), and plan on using DirectX, you may want to check out LX5suite ('http://www.paradicesoftware.com/lx5suite/page_lx5suite.htm').
<blockquote>
Lx5suite is a collection of units for Freepascal (FPC) that allow you to quickly and easily do things that would normally take a long time to get right, and do so in a well-structured object oriented way. The units also ensure you need spend minimal time learning to understand the underlying systems you are using (e.g. sound, graphics, networking) and more time using these systems to create solid applications and games. It's all completely freeware, under heavy development, and source code is available. When I have some free time, there will also be a tutorial series to help newbie programmers go straight from 'Hello, World!' programs into games using true colour and DirectX sound! Visit again frequently, especially the "What's New" page, as this is updated automatically by lx5suite when changes are made and will be more current than even the news page.
