Hey guys. I've finally got some spare time after getting back from E3 to put a small selection of pictures and movies up for you.

Krome Studios had a stand at the Austrade booth. We were situated in a quieter section of the show, which is a good thing if you have to be there for any length of time. We had a continuous stream of media reps coming by to check out TY3, so I was fairly busy doing demos of the game.

We hired a local college student to wear the TY suit for a few hours each day. It gets awfully hot in that suit and you can only see people's feet (the viewing hole is in TY's mouth).

A wide shot of Sony's booth. The video screen at the top was just one really long video wall that stretched the entire length of the booth and then curved to the front. It was amazing to watch. Sony had countless PS2's and PSP's on display showing off the pick of the bunch of the upcoming titles on those platforms. There was a demonstration of PS3, but it was actually just video footage of (allegedly) actual PS3 stuff, but the machine itself was nowhere to be seen. The queue just to see the PS3 footage was three hours long. I gave that a miss.

Nintendo's booth is right next to Sony's. Nintendo had their obligatory video wall, but they split it into several vertical strips. Mind you, these strips are about twenty feet high. Many games being shown on Gamecube, DS and the new Gameboy Micro. The playable Gameboy Micro units were attached by wires to booth babes belts, four units per booth babe. There was a queue to see Revolution stuff, but Nintendo were showing even less than Sony. Even so, the queue was still very long.

The obligatory booth babes. These are just a small sample of the huge number of booth babes that were present at the show.

The new Batmobile from Batman Begins (the Tumbler as it is known in the movie) was on show in the foyer of the South Hall. This car was a strange beast. I'm real keen to see the movie. I played the Batman Begins game on Xbox and it was quite fun. Looked great.

An exterior shot of just one of the halls at the LA Convention Center. You'll never see bigger banners anywhere else.

files/9/E3_2005_09th.jpg ('files/9/E3_2005_09.jpg')

The promo video for TY3 was being shown on the Activision video wall. TY3 is being published through Activision (TY and TY2 were published through EA).

Blizzard had a life-size statue of the hero from Starcraft Ghost. I wanted to take that one home. The game wasn't bad either.

Movie Clip 1 - Quicktime ('files/9/E3_2005_01.mov') (3.4MB)
Movie Clip 2 - Quicktime ('files/9/E3_2005_02.mov') (2.5MB)
Some small movies showing what it is like inside the hall with the noise, lights, video walls, and everything.

Movie Clip 3 - Quicktime ('files/9/E3_2005_03.mov') (6.0MB)
A small snippet of one of the live bands and performers (they call themselves "Mutator") that NCSoft put on to promote Auto Assault.

That's a small taste of my trip to E3. Hope you like it.

Thanks for putting that up!

I feel a bit sorry for the guy in the suit though. So many cool things to see there and he's got to look down all the time. :?

I tried downloading your movies, but the links didn't work for me.

Thanks for the insight Sly. Always great to get another perspective from these glitzy events.

Crisp_N_Dry: Subtle, but it looks like it. :)

Traveler: I think it might be a case-sensitive thing. (.mov vs .MOV)

Edit: Yup, it was a case-sensitivity thing. Movie links work now.

Being a married man, I did not "spy" that ;)

So obviously you were not distracted by the large weapon she is holding.
