Not too long ago after Free Pascal 2.0 was released, there was a very informative article written by DaniA¬´l Mantione posted on OSNews.com ('http://www.osnews.com/') about the history and relivance behind the new release of this amazing opensource cross-platform compiler.

It goes on to talk about some of the highlights of it's technical aspects and how it evolved from it's initial start-up back in the mid 90s when Turbo Pascal 7.0 was seeing it's end and Delphi was being born.

Besides the article, which I think is great, the comments are quite interesting aswell. It's interesting to see what others think of Pascal's future and really outlines some of the everyday thinkings of the average programmer both in and out of the Pascal world.
