Well the source code for Quake 3 has finally be released under GPL, as promised by CEO John Carmack last week at QuakeCon. I'm sure that there will be many freeware/shareware sites that will be featuring it for the next few months.
Also, you will be happy to know that there is a Pascal translation of the Quake 3 engine planned. Inspired by Sulaco's group project for the Quake 2 translation, this time it's the people from the German DelphiGL community. :) Though the main portion of the community is German, they have decided to translate it in English so that everyone can participate in the project.
You can get the source from id Software here ('ftp://ftp.idsoftware.com/idstuff/source/quake3-1.32b-source.zip') via FTP.
Or you can also download a copy from here ('http://files.filefront.com/Quake_3_132_Source_Code/;4055125;;/fileinfo.html') aswell.
