Do you make your own, use free domain or do you have a sound man working for you?

Have any good sites?

I hav a few websites I get sounds from. From what i'm seeing they're the best sound sites around :-) specially for games.

there are:

Find sounds which has a great search facility:
http://www.findsounds.com/

and

The wave central:

A few years ago I nought a CD with royalty free sounds on it. I mostly just cut pieces out of these sound files for my games. :)

I also have a sound recording sound card at home (MI2) with a mixer for making my own stuff but it is so difficult to use I very seldom get anything useful out ot it. (Pretty much the biggest waste of R4500 ~$700 I have made) :(

Some of them are not high-quality, but still very usefull. [/url]

I record them from movies sometimes..

I got cool car crash sounds from recording sounds from rally crash videos. (yes, there are some without background music)

I purchased a load of Sample CD's a few years ago. Sometimes I search on the Net for free ones, but basically, I use one's I know I've got the rights to use.

So far iv'e only really used midi music, from free search ones. Searching Free Midi Music in Google and the first few results is pretty much what I have used.

I mostly rip them from other games... it's bad, I know...
sometimes I just take the free one's...

Well I guess it's not always bad lol.

Like a sound for a fire or something like that, I mean it can certainly variate alot but the point is that it's basic natural sound, so anyway you go about it, it should sound roughly the same, so why re-do it :P.

You could create your sounds with Fruity Loops, not really that hard, and the sounds can be pretty good.
