After long delays ATI today released their new graphics-cards line-up, the Radeon X1000-series. It covers all segments, beginning with the X1300 for low-end, X1600 for mid-end and X1800 for high-end. All those cards come in different "flavours" too, like the X1800XL and the X1800XT.

I won't go into detail on the hardware or on which vendor makes better cards, but together with those new cards ATI also released two new demos. Right now you can get only videos of them (in HD-quality) on this page ('http://www.ati.com/designpartners/media/edudemos/RadeonX1k.html'), the realtime demos should be there within some weeks.

And especially the Toyshop-demo is just awesome and everyone should download that video and see it. And don't forget : This isn't prerendered, it's in all done in realtime! Kudos should go to the ATI-Demoteam that is responsible for that great demo, which includes a total realistic city-scenery on a rainy night and includes stuff as parallax mapping, refractions, realistic shadows and much more. Now that should stop the talkings about the PC now falling behind PS3 and Xbox360.

yeah the next gen ati cards are looking good :)

i think crossfire might be a dissapointment though (due to the "master card" and "slave card", might cause prices to go up)

Sounds good, though the reduction in warranty down to 1 year will cost 'em. I already plan on switching to NVidia for my next upgrade...

Man that ToyShop (http://www.ati.com/designpartners/media/edudemos/RadeonX1k.html) demos is truely unbelievable. The Assassin one is not bad but the ToyShop (http://www.ati.com/designpartners/media/edudemos/RadeonX1k.html) is ten times better.
