Great to see a new challenge. And a nice theme with lots of options.

The idea that immediately struck me was a sort of tower defence in reverse - where the towers already exist and you need to place influencing objects to indirectly guide the monsters successfully through the towers.

So for example you may place a treasure chest on the map, and all the monsters go rushing for the treasure chest and take gold out of it, before being led to the next point. Or place an item on the map to chase the monsters away from it.

Not sure I'll be able to get to this but I might give it a try.

Cool idea! Makes me wonder what your dungeons and/or maps will be like.
