I've heard it mentioned by a few PGD members that they had tried or had owned Chrome, either through work or for their own personal usage.

So who here actually has Chrome or is thinking of getting it?

It would be great if you planned on developing for the PocketPC.

I have Chrome (which you probably already figured out since I asked about the group... :) ). It's mostly for personal use, but I intend on using it for any .NET game programming I might do. I'm trying to be more open to this .NET stuff since Microsoft appears to still be very serious about it. And for business programming the Generics now available in 2.0 are a serious carrot. One of the introductory books I got to try and learn this trade a little is the little VB.NET one. I'll probably translate the code from VB.NET to Chrome after I'm done reading (finished chapter two recently). I'll let the board know and people can write me for it if they like because I tend to doubt I can post a translation of a game from a book like that.

As for PocketPC, if there's one thing I might know less about than .NET it may be the PocketPC. :D I did install the synchronization software on a laptop at work for the first time the other day, though, so I guess you could say I'm making progress...

Thank you,
Ron

So how did that translation go?

Have you made anything game-wise is Chrome as of yet? :)

I have the Chrome command line compiler and I'm trying to get my engine to support it...

I'm afraid not. :( Priorities changed since the post. I spend the evenings working on commercial projects so that hopefully I can leave my regular job to go out on my own next year. As a result all my spare time after our two year old goes to bed is spent on those software projects or household projects to get the house ready for a potential sale next year. If I do try and go out on my own we'd like to move to an area where the cost of living isn't as high as it is here in Portland, OR. My wife is expecting again in February so the pressure to make this happen or give up and settle for building other people's dreams for the rest of my days is higher as each day passes...

I've used the Chrome Command Line compiler to play with some of Savage's XNA stuff. But it hardly counts for anything.

I do consider it important tot move in that direction.
