The NAG Game Dev community has released their own DevMag.

Get a Copy http://www.squidcor.co.za/devmag-issue1.zip

The Mag will try to be language independant. Anyone here interested in a PascalDevMag? I volumteer to be the Editor if there is enough interest.

Hi all,
there are some really good game related articles in these magazines and they are up to issue 8 already.

You can read the back issues @ http://www.devmag.org.za/issuelist.jsp

WILL, since you are the expert on things article and Library related, could there be an link to each issue from our site. It might also be an idea to add links to Gamasutra articles as well.

Good idea... *sounds of hammering & power tools* ...done!

Check out the new Online Magazines (http://www.pascalgamedevelopment.com/library.php?show=list&cat=2#33) section in the PGD Library!

I've added all the released Dev.Mag issues and will keep an eye out for future issues. ;)

As far as creating a Pascal magazine, I'm all for the idea. Though rather than a monthly timeframe, I'd recomend either a Yearly, Bi-Yearly or Quarterly run to start.

I'd see if you can get your hands on a good illustrations guy to work with. The focus on the magazine would probably be best suited to highlight the events, works of those in the PGD community and Pascal game development industry over thecourse of the past timeframe since the last publication.

This I think would be a HUGE thing to get more new people interested in Pascal and whats availible for it for making games.

Well thats 4 so far...

I'm sure that there are others that would want to write for the magazine too. Athena for one. Nitrogen as another... Considering the 1 to 4 times a year requirements, it would not be hard to put together enough articles to make a little mini tome. ;)

Would be a great thing...

Every issue could show/test a different game developement framework, for example Asphyre, DANJetX, GLScene etc. Every test could be linked to some projects here which are done with these frameworks.

Then I could imagine some special things which could be explained in each issue like how to create a game engine, particle system, game objects classes, terrain/landscape etc.

Another thing could be some articles about the design of special game genres. How would the auther start developing an adventure, platformer, puzzle, action game etc...

Yes, a game developing magazine from developers for developers would be a great thing.

Greetings,
Dirk
