On my Sony Viao laptop when I have tested games like Tanx or McClaw's Tank game, the textures don't have any transparency. The built in graphics card is a Radeon IGP 345M with the latest ATI drivers. The thing is that I can play Half Life 2 on it and there are no transparency issues what so ever.

Does anyone have any ideas as to why one game works fine while the others do not? Any know of any work-arounds?

I had that problem with Delphix at some point. My case solved increasing DirectX texture quality in 3D-card settings.

Could you please test this, savage?
I investigated the screenshot you sent me and then I took a look at the different things which look ok and which don't. Didn't find anything which could help here. Your video card seems to have at least problems with A8R8G8B8 and A4R4G4B4. The last is used for the fonts, which aren't transparent too on your screenshot.

I see, transparency issues may also appear when transparent color is something else than pure black. 16bit, 32bit desktops may affect on it, but rgb(0,0,0) is always the same and working.

I am aware of this.

But anyway, I use A8R8G8B8, so transparency is stored seperately.
