Well I've released a simulation game that I think is really a social exercise/experiment.

It's based on a particular episode from the TV series LOST and more info can be read here...
http://www.savagesoftware.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=5

and can be bought here...
http://www.savagesoftware.com.au/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=1

It's a social experiment because I want to see how many people will actually pay and download a game that is essentially very very boring.

I'll keep everyone posted of any sales figures.

Cool :)

Where are you advertising the game for sale?

Have you put in on GameTrove?

I'm hitting the various LOST fansite forums and mentioning it there.

Just had a thought - do you have an online 'high scores' it would add a lot to the game :)

That's slated for v2.0 :)

I've added it to GameTrove now - http://www.gametrove.net/game.php?g=156

What's funny about the GameTrove entry is that all these other entries look so professional and mine is a bit basic in comparison.

That's a funny idea. It'd be even better if once you starting playing it, if you let the timer run out it hieroglyphs flip up an then your computer shuts down.

Has anyone bought it yet?

Don't give it away as those of us in the UK have not seen it yet.

Ah ha! Finaly a show that airs in Canada BEFORE the UK! :P

Sorry, I'm just still bitter about Canada being the last place on earth that Galactica is aired. :?

So... um... are those the right numbers? And wasn't that video a tad longer? :D Or is that the edited one that was left in the bunker when John found it?

Yup... I watch it too. ;)

--- SEMI-SPOILER --- IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN SEASON 2 EPISODE 21 '?' YET, DO NOT READ --- SEMI-SPOILER ---

You know what you should do as a 'spin-off' of this game? Make one for 'The Perl'. Write text files and drag the book once complete into a tube graphic. :D LMFAO... Though I think it might do as 'well' as this one. But then 2.0 could be called 'The Swan' and you need at least 1 web cam and a sound card to play. And the other 'The Perl' and it feeds in the web cams of another 'The Swan' bunker program. :D

I've got too many bad jokes I can put on this thing of yours Dom, so I'm just gonna zip it before I start going.

Oh... and what happens once we stop "pushing the button"?

Thats pretty much how I get my eps. I canceled all my cable because here in Canada nothing comes out on the networks when it actually comes out, if at all. BSG 6 months late. E-Ring, not aired. Lost, never on when I'm around. Star Gate SG-1/Atlantis, same as BSG. MythBusters is even all the other Discovery Channel shows are all reruns. :P So stuff 'em! I'll 'air' them myself at my own personal showtimes. ;)

I'm thinking of giving him his money back. I feel quite guilty that he's paid for the simulation.

First find out if he enjoyed it! If he didn;t then give him money back - if he enjoyed it ask him to write you a review!

Give him a John Locke 'Freak Out' button. :D A big black guy in rags with a cross around his neck shows up at his door and hits him with a big wooden stick and tells him not to be difficult.

Why don’t you send them an email asking them for feedback on the "game"?

interesting, my guess is, it probably costed you more to make it than you earned from it ;)

Yes agreed, but the point was if you build it, they will come. You just need to get it in front of a few of them.

Oh yeah, I sold 1 copy of my Say What! Add-In for Windows Messenger Live.

WILL
09-10-2006, 08:44 AM
:D Is that the one I helped beta test for you? (Or was the beta testee anyways)

savage
09-10-2006, 09:12 AM
Say What! is the the Add-In that reads out the Chat Messages as you receive them. Ideal for when you are in the room but not at your computer.

Office Secretary hooks into Outlook and lets people who chat to you know what time you will be out of your meeting ( if you are in one ) . It also allows people to add tentative appointments to your Calendar using Chat messages.

The 3rd Add-In which is still in beta is one that uses Google Translate to allow 2 people to chat in their native language and it will translate the message and send it to the other person in their respective native language.

Not sold any of these last 2 yet.
