Well, after quite a bit of work on JumpStart and one of its demos Tank Brigade I have decided to release the demo as a full working game. Basically its a single level game built around JumpStart. The Map to play on is randomly selected from a set list (currently 4 maps) and play exists of you trying to destroy all of the enemies on the screen. Some maps are generated procedurely and some are hard coded.

In the relased version sound is supported (turned off by default, turn it on in the options screen). I'll warn you now that the sound can get a bit annoing. Luckily you can press escape, go to options, turn it off, back, and resume game :)

Graphics are completely from SpriteLib GPL. If anyone wants to take the time to create real graphics for the game I'd be happy to add them in and add on a credits screen.

Enough history and info, here is the Download link: http://www.eonclash.com/JumpStart/FPC/TankBrigade.zip
JumpStart home page: http://www.eonclash.com/JumpStart/ (to be updated over the next few days)

Windows only for the time being, but I'm working on the linux version of JumpStart. Documentation to follow.

As a note, I would like to add some music to this demo just to round it out. If you or anyone you know would like to put something together let me know. Same as everything else, I'll be happy to add you to the credits.

Why not make a request in our local Music Forum? :) Just remember to offer a playable demo and some details about what you are expecting. These are usually the most requested things from musicians.

You can then reference to the PGD thread on other forums or chat rooms instead of reposting the same thing all over the place.

BTW, it does remind me of an old arcade game I've seen once. A classic remake clone no doubt. ;)

I'm sure its a clone of something, but I don't know what :). I just found the sprites in SpriteLib GPL and went from there. A maze type game with enemie tanks seemed to fit. Since the splash image was green, then the main player made sense to be green :). I'll post up a thread on the music forum asking for some help and see what I get :).
