Though I usually am outsourcing my graphical needs, this time I actually came up with something myself. It's not complex but about the time of JEDI-SDL's 0.5 release, I was thinking how nice it would be to have a visual logo to asociate the library to.

So as simple as this is, I figure it would make for a nice logo for whatever the new JEDI-SDL site will look like.

Opinions, death threats? :)

I like it!
Simple and clean, like as SDL :)

I think it looks good as well.

Can we see a transparent version?

See what I did... now I have to go and work for it. :P I'm gonna have to dig up the original whereever I stuck that.

Are you looking for an image that you can put on pretty much any background, that sorta thing?

I think the edges have a bit of anti-aliasing, but if I can get a hold of that original I can make both light, dark and medium marquee versions.

Is this what you where looking for?

I managed to dig up the original PSD file, but unfortunately the 1.0 text was not saved along with it. So I just redid it, but it looks a tad different now. (More colorful though, no?)

Looks ok on white, but personally I think it looks much better on a dark background.

SDL - Simply Designed Logo.

I like it! Now I can add proper Jedi-SDL logo to my games, rather than the other SDL logo.

Yep this is the one I would go for, but with the previous colour scheme on the 1.0 as right now the 1.0 stands out too much and looks like it has been added on. The previous one blended in perfectly.

Mind giving us a direct download link? I know that right click and save as, but then you don't get transparency (at least I didn't). That and the image was umm... well... lets just say less then useable.

Really?! It's an exact copy from the image hosting site...

You have to click on the link, it'll take you to their site with a webpage showing the unaltered original image.... just right click and save as...

What web browser do you use?

Tried downloading in IE6, IE7, and Mozilla 1.5. Seems that the image hosting company alters the images once they are put up. The background (transparent) layer of the PNG is set as white while the background of the alpha layer is set as black. Unless you didn't save this with transparency enabled. In witch case I know what the problem is and really wish you would post the transparent version :)

EDIT: I just tried it again, and now the image is fine in all browsers. Something fishy went on earlier, but now I have it just fine :)

Ooohh... suuuuuure blame me. :P

I myself use FireFox and I've tried downloading... it came back byte for byte the same, so I was a bit confused. :? But it's possible that some browsers that do not support transparent PNGs (ie... MS Browsers) might have issues with saving the format as such...

Well at least one knows how to get the original without issue now. ;)

 I guess that means you like it too, seeing how you've been trying so hard to d/l it. :P

Can I have a 256x256 version of the logo to use in the OpenGL demos? If possible 2 versions. 1 bmp version and 1 png.

Sure... whats the background color for the BMP though? Black? (looks nicer on darker colors :D)

Here is the PNG (transparent):

Let me know about the BMP and I'll do one up of that too. :)

Yep I think it looks great. Actually I really like the way that all of the logos for the engine look on black background (though the Lua one was a bit hard to get ready):

Makes a pretty cool splash screen.
