Microsoft today released the .NET Framework 3.0, which contains the final release of the Windows Presentation Foundation.

A list of available download is stored on the .NET Framework blog ('http://www.netfx3.com/blogs/news_and_announcements/archive/2006/11/06/.NET-Framework-3.0-has-been-released_2100_.aspx'). Users that have a previous CTP shall uninstall it before they can install the new framework.

Free training for the new 3.0 framework is available on the Microsoft e-learning center (https://www.microsoftelearning.com/eLearning/offerDetail.aspx?offerPriceId=109340).

Have fun!

And I'm still stuck with .Net 1.5 in Delphi 2006 :( They should submit updates faster, without making us pay another US$ 1k.. :?
It also would be nice if they could create their own e-learning center.. M$ marketing is way more brutal/effective.

I was thinking the same thing. Odds are RemObjects will have Chrome up to 3.0 specs before Delphi gets 2.0. :?

What bothers me is that its not the first time that this kind of nonsense reduces the value of Delphi, I truly believe Delphi is the best (RAD) development tool out there* and I tried/used them all. (* it was true few years ago, now the competitors started to catch up..)
But with all of the great benefits of Delphi I still find my self explaining new clients why I use Delphi and not .. I don’t understand how the level of ignorance reached to a level that I hear “You use what!?”, “Isn’t that for DOS”, “But pascal is dead” and so on..

Maybe the rent is due to the late hour / lack of sleep (might be a combo) or the fact that I had to “explain my self” only a few hours ago.

Now how can we help? Can we help or is it solely the job for DevCo marketing..? (btw, at least here they no longer teach Pascal in schools/uni, from some unexplainable reason they moved to Java (a bribe from sun?))

Well, from compiler point of view .NET 3.0 == .NEt 2.0.

/ Technicaly .NET 3.0 is just a rebranded 2.0 version with additional libraries provided in single package /
