View Full Version : Cyber-reality based game with real networking

I had this neat idea to make a small game based on networking, cyber-reality, etc... It kind of goes under the Cyber-Punk genre in short. This is just research right now.

But here is my immediate question, what would be the best library to implement such a system? I'm looking at doing actual networking, hacking, etc, but all based around a game.

Also what would be safe and what would be unsafe in this endeavor?

Things I'd like to implement are; dhcp, newsgroups, Ping, Trace-route, Whois, email, irc, email verification, imap, simple http, etc...
