Hello, hello!

This thread is about something PGD can unfortunately nt do: upload files.

Apart from having a server, is there another way to upload files for other ppl to download?
If you know of a blog space that allows this, please let me know!

Cheers ;)

There are many sites that allow files to be uploaded for free -you just need to make an account on the server.

http://myfilestash.com
http://www.googlepages.com
http://www.uploadtemple.com

I havn't used any of them so cant help you further than just giving them as suggestions.

Well I don't know of any standalone file hosting sites other than for Video or Pictures. However if you are really hurting for webspace there are these ones:

http://www.tripod.lycos.com/
http://angelfire.lycos.com/
http://geocities.yahoo.com/

and many others...

The PGD forums' earlier incarnation, 'DGDev' was hosted at http://www.f2o.org/ for a few years and had a free .tk (which I believe is still active?)

And I just saw somewhere that http://www.godaddy.com/ also offers free hosting.

At the very worst case scenario you cannot direct link your files, but you can make a decent page to distribute your latest project to others. Just have to deal with a few ads with some.

Oh, just so you know, PGD hosts the entries of all the competitions. :) There is of course an upper limit, but at each deadline we have the competitors upload their entries.

An external page however does get linked to on the competition page, so it's great for showcasing and providing updates and patches.

This however is only for the competitions as it takes a lot of webspace and bandwidth to support such a thing as it is.

@Will: I think in the advertising you should include (if Dirk allows it of course) something with the Tanx game, because that's how I first heard about PGD! Yeah, a friend of mine saw the game and told me it was the craziest thing he had ever seen made with pascal, so I checked it out, registered, and now I spend most of my mornings here! lol :P

Wow.... reading this makes me feel strange :) I love this feeling! *lol*

Makes me some kind of "proud".

And there are so many things I know now I can do better.... maybe I will really start to make a real game someday...

Nice! :)

On both accounts. Now I have to make Dirk cry and get him to release our Iron Strike: Stormfront. :D (Built on top of the TANX engine. --hey there you go, now you know what to call Iron Strike's game engine now.)

I think this might bring some problems
