As I've become more disillusioned with the push to games that are purely nice to look at, I've started tracking down games that are less visual but still fun to play.

I stumbled across this baby while reading Kotaku (http://www.kotaku.com/).
It's a flash game called "N" and can be downloaded from here

Simple, fast paced fun.

I've been seeing it on GGE lately (if it's the same one I'm thinking of) I should check it out sometime.

btw speaking of games with low detail graphics and high gameplay value Introversion is making a sequel to Darwinia for release next year. It's supposed to be a multi-player version of the first one. It'll be called Multiwinia. If you haven't played that one, you really should check it out. It's a great example of how you can take a very limited amount of graphics assets and make a successful commercial game out of it as an indie developer. In fact all of their games are made in this way and some even have 'cult' status. Or so they have claimed.

I'm not exactly sure when, but I've seen this posted before. :?
Anyway, although the game is pretty cool, something I found even more interesting is the fact that they've added tutorials on their site (http://www.harveycartel.org/metanet/tutorials.html), where they explain in good detail how the game works.

I stumbled over this game months ago when I tried to learn physics in games. The N tutorials are great and I thought they are very popular, so I did not post this.
