Hello everybody,
due to the lack of activity on the forums i decided to post this little game
i'm working on, it's still in alpha stage but i enjoy it a lot, mostly because
i like japanese robots :D

<center>files/news/2007_06_27_sdgundam.jpg (http://www.fnxgames.com/imgs/games/sdgundam/SDGundam.gif)</center>

DOWNLOAD HERE (http://www.fnxgames.com/download/demos/SDGundam.rar)

It's an horizontal shooter where you have to kill hordes of Zakus, coded
with the good old DelphiX.

The game works by waves of 30 seconds each, every wave shows new
enemy mobile suits with more aggressive AI (wave 1-2 zakus go only straight, from 3 on they move diagonally and shoot).
If you don't let more than 10 enemies pass behind you you'll get some
extra points. Task, go for the highscore :P

Of course if you are hit by a laser or an enemy you lose life points or shield
points. You have only one life with energy and shield %.

In game keys:

UP, DOWN, LEFT, RIGHT : basic movements
Z: shoot
X: activate shield (deactivate by realeasing the key)
PAUSE: pause the game
SPACE: enter the game
ESC: go to menu if ingame, exit from game else.

Tip: set a low midi volume (<50%) on the pc because the tune may be
disturbing at 100% and it covers the sfx.

There's still lot of work to do on in, like tuning volumes, looping ingame
music, improove collisions, bonus drops, better zakus' AI and online
scores. Also it soffer of some slowdown sometimes, there's no optimization
at all eheheh

Updates will follow :)

As usual, let me know what you think! Have fun :D

FNX, looks like fun. Just remember your playing in copyright territory, so you might want to look into legal issues.

When I get time I'll download and check it out :)

I know it, but this is going to be just a little fan-game. As usual i always
release everything free, i didn't put any readme just because it's an alpha
and because i use to consider PGD as a family, it's like if i'm showing it
to my brothers :) So normally i don't keep in mind that someone from
"outside" could see it.

I promise i'll add a disclaimer into the package on the next update!

Download worked fine for me.

I tried it out shortly and it looks good.
However it's practically impossible to score a bonus after the fourth wave, but this game could be really good with a little more balance and perhaps some drop-offs.

The link worked okay for me as well.

I've played it for a bit, and I must say I like it a lot. The graphics are good, sound too, although the shooting sfx gets a bit boring after a while. In all, it seems quite polished already. I got as far as wave six.

Add a menu, some options to let users control the sound level, add some more weapons, (double/tripple gun, rockets, lasers etc) and of ofcourse bosses, and you've got a winner.

Oh, before I forget, I've tested it on Vista and after closing the game I got this message about D3DRM.dll being required, but nolonger available in Vista. I dont think you can do something about that, but I thought you should know nonetheless.

Very cool game FNX :-)

The explosion interests me, where did you get the images for the explosion or did you make it yourself?

All in all it looks very good :-)

Hello and thanks for the precious feedback!

I'm going to tune it up next days so i'll provide another release next week!

what's coming next as i planned:

-Better Enemies AI / movement patterns
-Better Gundam impact with enemies and lasers
-Shield/Energy/Weapons Drop
*release

-Backgroud change by wave
-Big boss to the end
*release

-Menu
-Highscores
-Polish
*release

Also i want to test my online highscores engine and i'll need your help for
some testing too:) Actually i think i'll test it on Invasion because it's almost
complete and working before adding it to this one.

The web part (actually ASP+MSAccess due to my web provider... i wanted
to use JSP+MySQL) is complete, i'm going to get it working inside of the
game.

Stay tuned!

Traveler, this is interesting! I don't have a Vista PC yet to test on but i'll
ask someone to help me out with this. Thanks!

Nice game!:D

noticed one tiny thing: when you activate the shield, the helmet on your gundam changes to a brighter color... or is it supposed to do that?

Yeah i know that, it's because the 2 sequences comes from 2 different
rips which i found over the net so one is a bit brighter than the other.
It's a small gfx issue, i'll fix it during the polish :)
