We gonna make a platformer with zombies (or something similar), lots of
zombies... (or something similar)...

and more zombies...

we gonna use our 3D engine: Necro3D (old version), however its full 2D (and maybe a 3D background)

The game will be presented in monochrome coloring (can that even be considered coloring?) with the exception of some colored elements to accentuate certain aspects like gunfire and blood and maybe some other things like special enemies.

Ok, let me introduce myself. My name is Frank aka Mad Woody. You guys already know me from 2nd place award winning game .S.C.A.G. en last year I also worked on our 24h game Uber Fighter.

This year is already gonna be a disaster for me. I don't have my plug & play wireless shave device with me, so I'm gonna be furry at the and of this 48h :P

I'm also a little sick from last week (also in my head) but that can be positive :P

Sorry man, the wheat whacker is not an in game weapon... Only the base of the wheat whacker was used as the base of a heavy machine gun and it's actually a zombie that carries it :P

Feeling like a zombie. Editor is almost done. Few minor tweaks will do the trick. Meanwhile our zombie cat is still sleeping and isn't bothering of the noise that we make :P

The first screenshot looks like you were inspired by the zombie game "Last dawn" someone posted here... but it looks very cool! Are you using blur-shaders?

No, the engine has no shader support whatsoever, it's the same glow effect as it was implemented in SCAG.

Yes, its level 1 of load runner. I never played it, but the style seems to fit in.

Its 2 player shooting yes :). Player 1 is now green, player 2 blue (so you can actually see who is who). Zombies are still white. Also they sometimes attack each other.

Levels also rotate a bit according the distance between the players.

It looks great, but from what I can see on the screenshots there doesn't seem to be a particular reasons for why I should believe that I'm fighting zombies and not humans. Besides zombies don't use weapons IMHO. They're just slowly walking up to you to suck your brain out.
But I'm not complaining. It's just a screenshot and it's amazing how far you've commed on so little time.

Zombies do actually use weapons, just look at George A. Romero's Land of the Dead.

They shoot random, walk random, be random, be stupid, attack each other (and on the player if they are close) and never go down stairs. However these are not human. They walk retarded (like us, but we're beyond human).

Is it intended that I cannot walk down the ladders, just upwards?
When I crouch I cannot stand up anymore... but the gunshots are at a height as if I am standing...

Very nice work... very bloody :twisted:

I thought it wasn't a real challenge, but infact it is.
You need to plan your way through the level, and make good use of the ladders.
Its easy to shoot zombies that are walking towards you but, when they are at the floor above you (and its crowded with em), it's alot harder to kill them without getting killed yourself.

I keep dieing @ lvl 4... and im tired of playing 1, 2 and 3 over and over agian :doh:
(I want to cut the first three out :razz:)

Both Woody and I use Vista and we don't need Admin privileges. It doesn't even ask me for elevated mode.

I wish I had some friends here which are also interested (and skilled) in making a quick game... I am sure I could do this, too... but alone and with my family in the neck its impossible for me I guess.... I think it's real fun to make such a session, isn't it?

You only need a few gamers that can handle photoshop or paint and want to come over for a few hours (24+). Its really fun. We had a good laugh at the animation stuff and the blood that was spilled during testing session.

well, it has been a while since we made Uber Zombie, but still I play this game with some friends.
We also figured out that if you play trough the first time, the second is more easy as there are more zombies that also beat the shit out of each other. We played it trough till the 4th (so 4 times as many zombies, hell yeah I need a better PC) it's a piece of cake. We actually decided to just quit. we did not die :) .

Zhooibaal had his cellphone transformed in some kind of "uber zombie" phone. It look very cool. I still need to pimp my phone.

Anyways, we still have planes to make Uber Zombie 2. It should include more zombies and some kind of storyline and cool level flipping. Before we continue with this idea we first need time and I still need to find some time to finish my engine (or at least make something useful of it).
