Wow cool... a new Duke nuk'em game :)

I thought the Duke nuk'em series were rather old and abandonned, but i guess i was wrong. They still make new games... :)

Interesting... lets hope that something serious will come out of this.

Yeah, I was skeptical myself considering the long history of the 'Duke Nukem Forever' development legacy. However this trailer is less than a month old since it's release so I dunno. :)

They might just manage to complete the project after well over a decade.

Could the prophecies be true or are my eyes betraying me?

Is Duke Nukem Forever acutually to be finished in this lifetime? I don't know what to believe.

Well considering the time it has taken to make the game so far, this teaser video has probably just been made so that we won't forget about the game. There's probably 10-20 years left before the game hits the shelves ;)

 Thats probably true. :)

Speaking of projects that take forever, there has been a few that have been going on for years now. Off the top of my head two of them are those Quest for Glory remakes; 'Quest for Glory 2 VGA' and 'Hero 6'. The latter I've actually been following off and on since about 1999 or 2000. Sort of proof that a lot of hope/interest and tons of help doesn't necessarily make a game for you.

I believe it when I see the game boxed in a shelf.

The above video is just a rendered scene with Duke... It does not look like ingame graphics, so wtf!

This video says absolutely nothing about the state of the development.

It's just a teaser trailer. The game has been this close before. Pstudio is right, it'll probably take another ten years just to get to the beta phase.

the above video is just a rendered scene with Duke...

not to mention that this video isn't the best quality itself. Duke moves somewhat artificial.

isn't that all game characters move artificial?

Who makes the voice of Duke? Sounds pretty similar to the first 3D version, that I can recall :D

I also laughed about the DNF abbreviation. They need to get Ken Silverman back on board and make it a kick arse Voxel engine :)!

Yeah, but some emulate human moves better than others.

The release date of this game is "When it's done". Anything else, and we mean anything else is someone's speculation.

Anyway here is some more official information: http://www.3drealms.com/duke4/index.html

No release date yet... so forever it could take :)

Well the guys have just announced that it will be released in either late 2008 or early 2009. Though I'd be surprised if it can hit those deadlines.

I'm afraid not. Extracted from the 3D Realms forums (http://forums.3drealms.com/vb/showthread.php?p=654680#post654680):
The release date is still 'when it's done', and will be until the appropriate moment. Platforms have not been finalized or announced. You can rest assured that we are moving toward a goal and that the recently released teaser trailer is the start of that process and seeing more of the game, sooner than later.
