I've been looking at some recent screenshots and noticed that the dialogs show the Delphi 7 icon in the corner. It got me thinking about what version of Delphi are people using these days ? I still use Delphi 7 as its IDE is fast and never crashes on me. What is everyone else using ?

Delphi 7 :) Guess you'd better make a poll for these kind of questions. :)

All my new projects are in BDS 2006 with Delphi 5 for all my legacy stuff.

I’m surprised that so far most people seem to be using quite new versions of Delphi. Is this because that is what you company uses or did you go out and buy it ? I’ve used newer versions of Delphi but from a game writing point of view I can’t really see any point in using the new versions.

At moment Delphi 7, but we change to Delphi 2009 if all needed third party components will be compatible with D2009.

i also use delphi 7, i have tried newer versions, but they are too resource hoggy, and aimed too much at the .net framework (horrid)

I use Delphi RAD Studio 2007 for Win32 (Work), and D5 for home projects.

I know it is not really Delphi, but I also now have Delphi Prism (being an Oxygene user).

cheers,
Paul

Delphi 7. And i will definitely not install any .NET framework on my computer until absolutely have to, and really don't see that happen.

Some point maybe switch to freepascal or other but sceptical about exe size, compile times, libraries and guides available etc in comparison.

I use Delphi 6. I've used Delphi 7 before when I was in school :baby:. But I'm doing just fine with Delphi 6, it takes me where I want to go... :P

I've switched over to Turbo Delphi 2006. Delphi 6 isn't compatible with Vista. :(

For my current project I switched to Turbo Delphi 2006, and so far I Like it. :)

Delphi 7 was really nice, but It's quite old now and has less language features. I felt like moving on.
