So today I found something else to rant about. When checking my emails I was notified of a new member that signed up to my forums. When I checked out my forums the bastard posted an Ad in some language I don't understand, and it looked to me like he was selling viagra and sh*t. That totally pisses me off... I don't want that crap on my site at all!

Why do you get f***-ups like that? And how often does it happen on PGD?

Anyway, the bastard is banned for life... Hah! :D

Sounds like you might have some anger issues, I can recommend a good psyhiatrist -- mine :o

Ha ha, just kidding...I can see how that can be extremely irritating ::)

I hate ad posters as much as the next guy, but could I ask for the language to be kept under control please :o

Sorry about that Athena, but I was quite ticked off.

Anyway, ad posters take attention away from the actual topic of the forums. An ad for viagra on an indy game developer's forum? "Any of you youthfull internet dwellers need viagra or levitra?" :S :o I think not!!!

I quite agree... my blog has had a problem with spammers in the past... now I just figure out if the IP is a datacenter or not and if it is, I block the netblock on 80 and 443... why does a server in a datacenter need to talk to my blog? I also have quite a few layers of anti-spam on it.

Our forums aren't so bad for some reason... email authentication is required for a start, and as you may have already noticed, I don't pull many punches. Well on my own sites, I'm a lot harsher when it comes to problem users, but, I've learned the hard way to take a step back, cool off and then post :-)

Hmmm today i discovered that my blog had been hacked by an 'spammer' >:( . Somehow he/she/it was able to modify the content of my posting and add spam to that :scared: .
I am partly the fault of it not keeping wordpress up to date. :(
Anyway after cleaning and updating my blog is back online. :)
