Hi Darthman,
That sure is a nice teaser! I saw some familiar games, like Turrican (Isn't that in the works for quite a long time now?) and the spider game from djoker (I forgot the name of the game.) And some new ones too.

Please do keep us posted about any projects released!

No. This is not Turrican project. It's quite small remake named TGame2 (it's about 600Kbytes, 1 weapon, 3 levels, 1 boss, 2 tunes and 2 weeks of work).

Spider game called XTropper, made by XProger.

Very cool! Some nice works there. I noticed a few of those games elsewhere too. (XTropper and Debrysis) There is a review of Debrysis in the Pascal Gamer (http://www.pascalgamer.com/) magazine Issue 1.

Your work seems to echo around this community and other too Darthman. ;) I wonder if the IGDC is open to non-Russians? And for that matter if your competing in the IGDC would stop you from starting an entry into the PGD Annual? :)

And just like Alex, please help us keep up to date about things going on in the Russian community.

Yeah. IGDC is open to everyone.
But there still one problem. Language.

WILL
08-08-2009, 12:38 PM
Thats true, I wouldn't be able to read Russian to save my life, BUT there is one language that we do have in common. ;)

Maybe if anybody that made an entry had a Russian liaison/translator or something...

There is another teaser. At this time there are 34 games from 34 different contests (not only winners). Enjoy!

That's very cool. :)

The RTS-ish game at the end of the first video reminds me of C&C generals. I see loads of other cool stuff here. How many of those games are coded using Pascal?

Wow. He has done a great job over the years. :) I do believe there are two of his games there that I've done game reviews for in the Game Reviews section of Pascal Gamer Magazine. Gotta love these project summaries.

at least you review Debrysis. Maybe Mujeo, Little machines still goes deeper ? :) He's talented gamedesigner.

WILL

I did Debrysis and Little Machines actually. :) Separate issues too I believe. I enjoyed both. Not Mujeo unfortunately, is it newer? He has a great artistic style. I can see him having much success commercially with an indie project of his should he take it there.

In fact... has he done any tutorials teaching some of the techniques he uses in his projects? Not being able to read Russian or German I often find myself at somewhat of a disadvantage by missing out on a lot of the cool things that such talented developers from both counties that don't all seem to make it here in English.

Maybe you can help with this and be our eyes and/or ears to the Russian Pascal community?

His works can be found here: http://oueo.ateamworks.com/
All IGDC competition's archives can be found here: http://igdc.ru/igdc_top.php?allkonkurs — there is still a lot of his works. If you click any contest name, for example ¬´Cubassacre¬ª - and you can see the ¬´OUEO factory¬ª or ¬´grouzd)ev¬ª in the table below, It means that he's work is done for this contest. Here it is a list:

What must I do for it? Probably learn english I think... :D

Indeed, he has done quite a lot. I seem to keep running into his works without knowing his real name even. :)

Naw, your English is fine for posting here I'm sure. Actually all I'd ask is for you to post when a big event is happening, such as the IGDC competitions. And if there is a great game someone made to let us know about it.

You can create News posts in the "Home" section of PGD and have one of the Staff here publish it for you. Or just contact me and I'll have time to do it myself eventually. I visit daily so it would probably be the next day. :)

There is a lot going on out there with all the great game developers, but if noone comes here to post about it everyone won't know about it and think we don't create anything. So any and all help in this area is hugely appreciated. And it really does help the community to be properly informed.

Okay, Will. IGDC competition is not a really BIG event. But we can try to make an experiment with mixed competition. I mean that IGDC and PGD can follow each other and make competition together. We can post news, rules and other stuff for contest here on PGD and on IGDC simultaneously. Our contests is pretty short for the time. Bethween 2 and 4 weeks usually. If you interested in it - let me know.

what would you say?

WILL

Sorry for not getting back to you on your proposal. I've actually been kind of busy and wanted to give you a more sure answer. We are still sorting things out with our next PGD Annual. I like the idea and can think of a number of possibilities that we could do for promotion of the event. Seeing as how I finally have contact with Embarcadero we could event ask them if they'll sponsor the event as well.

I think this topic would require further discussion via emails and such. We may even want to include Sascha Willems in on this discussion as well since he is one of the main people over at the German community (DelphiGL.com) who can represent the other third of the whole Pascal game development community as a whole.

Another contest (#68 — tetris) has been ended.
You can download all games below:
http://igdc.ru/konkurses/68_tetris.rar and http://bloov.blog.tut.by/files/2011/04/Tetris1.rar

We are interested in your opinion about it. Contest was quite short. About 10 days.

Your work seems? To solve this echo of the social and other Darthman. I do not know IGDC open to non-Russians? For this problem, if you IGDC competition will prevent the start of a project included in the annual PGD you?
