I think he meant that he has a smoothed curve and he wants the effect like in the second picture.

No offense, but you'd better recheck your english before hitting the submit button. There should be a "." between "direct" and "look". That's the reason I didn't understand you.
About the problem, I just opened a thread that contains code to generate splines:

Before you ask, I can't give you a nice GLScene example project containing this code. You must try to understand the code and then use it in your own project. :)

In that case, using splines is not the way to go. You need a simple physics simulation (move the ball with force-vectors).
