The game run a little too fast on my computer and was little surprised on 320x200 resolution on modern day... But it was a nice start for a retro game.

Hey this is really cool. Looks a lot like a game concept that I was going to make a long long time ago. In fact it was one of my first games, it was a cross between StarControl/StarTrek(for the original B&W Macintosh) and X-Wing. You'd fly missions in 'sectors' where you had to complete objectives to move on to different areas, etc. The project was shelved, but I have someone willing to do a novelization on the game's story concept. :)

Anyhow back to the game I guess... I'm not able to download it from the link you provided, but I was able to look at the videos. Very nicely done. If you ever want to 'evolve' this game I'd recommend trying pre-rendered sprites made from ship models. The effects you can always just use more detailed particles. Love these types of games, please keep working on it and tell us all about it.

it works only on XP, I want to port it to a modern pascal compiler.
I am also working on a background story, for the scenario, any ideas?

I guess this post is a bit late, but oh well I was kinda busy at the time I think... I'm sticking to that story. ;)

So for ideas for your game's story... hmm... a large scale war between all different races is raging and the human race, the newest to the conflict is trying to make sense of it all and ultimately resolve the conflict if possible. Each race has a specific beef with another race that can be resolved only with intervention of a 3rd party and it just so happens that the only major race that hasn't ticked anyone off, yet!, is the humans. The premise of the game could be simply to ally with all the 'good races' and create a peace between them while trying to defeat all the 'evil races'. Once all the undefeated races are allied with you and there aren't any remaining apposing races, you win. yay! :D

I can't help but think of Star Control 3 when I see this game, so I apologize if the general plot seems familiar. :p It would be cool if each race had their own look and musical theme kind of like Star Control 3 and Ascendancy. Those games were cool and the atmosphere elements made the whole game feel very exciting.

Cool. I can't wait to read your story. :)

BTW what platforms will you be planning to support? Is it just Windows or is there a Linux and a Mac port planned?
