First off, I love your web host. Got a lovely 1mb/s download rate (which is roughly 1/3 of my connection surprisingly enough, but rarely can servers even chug out data this fast)

So first impressions were kind of mixed. First, it was odd to see a bunch of floating objects in the sky behind the menu, then I later realized that was the scene selection. The graphics seem to clash too much in my opinion.

Make a custom cursor or two ;) Having the default windows mouse and delphi's old hover icon was kind of odd.

Anyway, right after I select "begin" (or whatever the button is named) on the first level, the demo crashed complaining about a float overflow, so I couldn't even play it.

The game looks quite beautiful so far though, wish I could play it. Can post system specs if you really need it.

I tried the game and it's great. It looks nice and is interesting. I encountered no obvious problems when I played the game.

I tested it on a computer with Pentium E2200, 2 GiB of RAM and Intel GMA 950 integrated graphics. I'll also test this on my two home PCs once I get home.

Anyway. I had some free time so here's some more info.

Bug is repeatable. I tried both checking "never show again" and not.

Specs:
Intel Core i7 (quad core) @ 2.3ghz, 4gb ram, nVidia GeForce 310m

Yes please, post system specs and send me LOG file /LOG/*.LOG (or check it yourself - is there is a line about error?)

First of all, the graphics are amazing...very well done!! :)

The only obvious drawback is that there is no help file ingame or otherwise to explain the gameplay.

Upon entering the training mode the app gave a "Floating point overflow error" and after clicking OK I had to use alt+F4 to exit as nothing else worked.

Specs: Sony Vaio Laptop (2 gigahertz Intel Core 2 Duo, 2 gig Ram, NVIDIA GeForce Go 7400 ) Vista Ultimate.

ps: I could show you the log file but it doesn't show any errors.

I tried the game again on my home PC, an Athlon II X2 240, 2 GiB DDR800 and a Radeon HD4850. The OS is Windows 7. It ran without problems, but it seemed to me that the resolution was a bit low. It seemed it was 800x600, which made the text and everything look smudged. I have a CRT monitor that can handle up to 1280x1024x60Hz if that makes a difference, but my current resolution is 1152x864x75Hz. At my job, I used an LCD where it looked much better, or I could be imagining things. Can the resolution somehow be adjusted, as there is no such option in the menu?

@dazappa
You have to enable custom cursor in the options.

I will answer your questions later, but now I need to fix the error. It is very depressing...
I ask all those who had an error to use that executable file again:
http://www.gamecask.com/games/dachinko/DachinkoDemo.exe
I hope that the current "fix" will help.

I see that the error is not dependent on the system and my code also did not show an error in LOG file.
I tested the game on four different computers without any problems.

Please help!

Nope, that doesn't fix the error.

I've been trying to help you with some research on it.

http://docs.embarcadero.com/products/rad_studio/delphiAndcpp2009/HelpUpdate2/EN/html/devcommon/compdirsfinitefloat_xml.html
http://www.delphipages.com/forum/showthread.php?p=12811
http://www.delphigroups.info/2/12/278903.html

Anyway, I think your best bet would be to expand your debugging (and therefore logging) and have us run it again. If you notice, based on my logfile and screenshot, the error occurs right after the balls begin falling, and right after "MeterPrepare". Start with shoving lots of debugging information around that area.

Thank you for your help "dazappa".

I've added some new features:
- Set8087CW($1332); (more: http://qc.embarcadero.com/wc/qcmain.aspx?d=8399)
- {$FINITEFLOAT OFF} (more: http://docs.embarcadero.com/products/rad_studio/delphiAndcpp2009/HelpUpdate2/EN/html/devcommon/compdirsfinitefloat_xml.html)
- more logs

Unfortunately, "MeterPrepare" was the last LOG in Create section (and last procedure) and it does not give me any area. The problem is somewhere else :(

Please, try again with this file: http://www.gamecask.com/games/dachinko/DachinkoDemo2.exe

Nope, doesn't seem to fix it. And I don't know that your problem is somewhere else. Just see what functions you are calling around where the meter is prepared, unless you believe it is a delayed crash.

mobilus, the game runs fine for for me, I played a few levels and there were no crashes.

The only thing that bugs me is the widescreen setting. It doesn't seem to work. Selecting "Widescreen" only makes the image worse somehow, it stretches the image and the black bars on the sides remain. Also, it looks bad and pixelated.
