Does anyone know of a free disk partitioner that's easy to use and isn't likely to kill my current OS? Had some bad experiences with such things.

I've got a 40GB drive with one big partition ;) running Win XP home and I want to create a new partition for Win 2K Pro without doing anything destructive to XP :P

Also, any advice on what to do and what not to do?

As far as i know there should be a partion manager in the Recovery Console that is coming with the WinXP CD. Just boot from the CD and select Repair.....you should be asked or the Administrator password....proceed by typing Help and search for the required command....hope this helps...

Thanks iLLUNis :)

I found BootIt at www.terabyteunlimited.com and it's worked just fine. I did look at the recovery console though and it's useful to know it's there, especially the FIXMBR and FIXBOOT commands ;)

Partition Magic would do fine
but be sure to have enough AC power
cause in power failure you may have
no partition :)
