Yes yes, it is a legit thread - I actually mean this, and I am aware about what PGD specialises in, But:
I have an old spec livebox (the wireless g version) hooked to the net. Its transfer rates are rubbish beyond surfing. 15m further I have a server. Linked to livebox with crappy speeds. I am looking into a new wireless n router (on the cheap) that is preferably dual band. The aim is:
have the new router connect to the livebox for internet and use that with all of my new wireless N hardware; it would connect via cable to the server. Wireless G functionality must be retained and my security is WPA-TKIP. Any candidate routers that any of you could recommend as a guideline? My trouble is: it has to connect to 802.11g network and provide an 802.11n netowork ???
Other option:
use the server to connect to the livebox via current connection for the internet only. Set up a new wireless n network connected by cable to the router.
Any thoughts?
