  • Learn How to Say OUYA and get your game on a Console!

Finally a way to get your indie development games put onto a TV-based console without having to deal with all the big money or red tape of the gaming industry. The OUYA is a new gaming console designed by Yves Behar that is powered by the Android OS and hooks up to your TV just like all the other commercial gaming consoles do.
The main difference is that it's geared towards indie developers who want to publish their game and get it on a TV screen without all the current industry hassles. It's also a neat and cleanly designed device with very sleek and attractive wireless controllers that come with it.

Plus what is a huge deal for many will be that these guys actually want you to hack the console. What large game system company lets or even asks for that? It'll come with a dev kit or SDK that will even help out with this. The main theme being helping game developers who want to make Android-based games and getting them published on the OUYA.

It has some other cool features such as video programmingand the like too. I could get into it more, but I think that this video would explain it better than I ever could.

Drop us a line! We'd love to hear from you and hear what you expect out of this platform.

And OUYA is built on Android. It will also support most of the popular engines. Already Unity is a launch partner.

We’d be pumped to have you on board. We’re already talking to folks like InXile, Owlchemy Labs, Semi Secret, Storm8, Spry Fox, Madfinger Games, Trendy Entertainment, Happion Labs, Mojang, Jordan Mechner, and thatgamecompany. Let us know if you support us, and we’ll add you to our list…

We would love to have you join the conversation, and make games on OUYA.

The OUYA gaming console has 29 days left until it's fundraiser is done and already gone past their $950,000 dollar goal. At only $99 dollars (minus shipping fees) this could be a new console to explore for all of you looking for Android stores and markets to sell your game on.

Developers like Mojang have already agreed to put all their games on the consoleas long as the product is of high quality.

This has a lot of potential. Seems like nifty hardware, and using Android as a platform already makes it familiar to developers and users. I'll see if I can get my hands on one by backing this project, but the money is a problem these days :/

They've reached $3 million bucks so far in a matter of days. This is either going to be a huge thing or a major flop. Either way $99 USD is cheaper than any other gaming console out there.

From what I can see; Oxygene for Java would probably be the best tool to take full advantage of the OUYA.

Also the system uses the Tegra 3 processor from nVidia.

It has been announced that OnLive will be running on this console from day one. This definitely shows that they're serious and brings an amazing catalouge of games to the system.

I'm pretty excited about this new system and all of use should be too. We now have the option to get our games onto this console using Oxygene for Java or Free Pascal/Lazarus depending on how they are using Android with their APIs and SDKs.
