  • Delphi XE3 World Tour Announced

Delphi XE3 is just over the horizon as Embarcadero has finally announced the World Tour dates and locations for their next major versions to all their developer tools. Focus seems to be on Windows 8's new UI look and feel and the next Fire Monkey and what it can do now. No word on Mac OS X or iOS and wither we will be seeing a native version for Mac users this year.

Embarcadero has had several developer conferences and workshops throughout the year showing off all those wanting developers how to get the most out of their developer tools on various platforms using Fire Monkey with various 3rd party tools and their currently available line-up. This is sure to follow, however most of these are of course geared toward business app type development and not so much indie software and games.

Amoung their current tool set, Delphi, C++Builder, JBuilder, RadPHP and Prism, they will be adding an HTML5 Builder tool to it's collective RAD Studio suite. No details on this new tool yet.

From Andreano Lanusse who recently left Embarcadero:

This new version will bring some new features related with the new Windows 8 UI, which Microsoft called Metro and will call something else as they release Windows 8, FireMonkey and others stuffs that will be announced later.

I will be posting my thoughts about this new version as soon Embarcadero release that. This is going to be my first independent and imparcial review about a new version since I left Embarcadero, stay tuned.

Much of all of this is of course speculation and down-right guessing until the World Tour starts and everything is presented.
