Happy New Year 2016 everybody, 10 years passed so fast!
Right on time for the new year and for the 10 years anniversary of www.FreePascal-meets-SDL.net I completely overhauled the website. For those of you who don't know it, it is dedicated to Pascal programmers who would like to learn and use the professional game development library SDL2 (Simple Direct Media Layer) for their application development.
The website got a new design which aims for an easy to use and easy to grasp experience. So, the design is simple and straight forward, and even mobile-friendly. Don't hesitate to read the chapters on the way :-)! The color scheme is still derived from the oldschool Turbo Pascal/Free Pascal IDE. The new website with an underlying content management system makes the maintenance much easier, so I can focus on extending the content. In early days with just a few pages back in 2005 it was easy to keep everything tight manually, but on growing more and more, it got to a point where maintenance took more time than the actual content generation.
All SDL2 chapters of the old website got revisited and extended, and a brand new two-part chapter got added. Furthermore you can directly comment on each tutorial page. You may register for this or use different social communities to do so, hence no new account is mandatory.
Last but not least I would like to thank the whole PGD Community for your support! I'm sure without the many comments in my forum and here in the PGD forum, having discussions or advising the website, it would have gotten much less recognition. Not to forget the long lasting official affiliation between the PGD website and the FP meets SDL website which originated in a time when WILL was still the site admin on 22nd Oct. 2010 and has strengthened until today!
