Actually I can't agree with that. The more money they have the better they can make the product. More helps, trust me. When posting a project goal that is funded by the public you usually go small because you just don't know how many people will actualy want to fund you and if it'll be enough if you up to X amount of dollars.

I think this is a pretty nice project and worthy of support from developer communities. A really good benefit of backing it is the rewards. You are probably getting a copy of their software tools and their art templates for less than the finaly cost of the product. Plus you can get involved in the beta and help steer the project in the "right way" as far as you and the rest of the backers are concerned. The latter of course depends on how much input from backers they are willing to take in, but it's still better to have some say. So there are benefits if you think about it.
