I think it's clearly wrong.. there are not 42 active users in this forum..
If you save your data in a proprietary format, the owner of the format owns your data.

This number basically means the number of users ever online at the same time... I believe it could be right, it barely ever happens that there are more than 10 people reading the forums at exactly the same time... if you have a browserwindow open with the forums in it for 5 minutes you are considered offline until you refresh the page... so I think 42 could be right and is quite impressive!
The DGDev Forums have this number on 5!
Do it by the book, but be the author!

it counts unregistered users too, today at around 14:00 there were 30 guests online
Main reason for this high number could be the compo.
I have seen that the DogFight post was read 200 times in 24 hours! So I guess the amount of users (incl. guests) could be right. It's an "advertising thing"Don't forget, that the dogfight compo is mentioned on different sites with direct link... even on site of Borland.

Ok, so you got me. I called up 45 of me mates on the bush telegraph and told them to jump online and take a gander at this site. Some of them had to ride a kangaroo to get to the nearest 'net cafe. Three were taken out by drop bears on the way, hence the peak of 42.
Now if you'll excuse me, I got a jumbuck in this tuckerbag I gotta take down to the billabong.
