PP Compiler Beta 2.10f and Other PalmOS Tools

New BETA version of the PalmOS Pascal Compiler was released.

Fixed: "Bug fix with absolute values"

For those of you that may want to get into PalmOS programming but are unaware of some of the resources and tools available, here are some neat tools that might help if you are planning on using the PP Compiler. (Warning: most of these project's websites are in French only!)

    FOZZY

FOZZY is a desktop editor for PP Compiler under Windows. Has a nice syntax highlighting editor window, and functions not too unlike the Dev-Pascal IDE has. Plus a cute little robotic dog mascott. Down-side, French language only. :?

    PIAF

"PIAF = Piaf Is Almost Fozzy"
PIAF is an IDE that runs on the PalmOS it's self. Slated to become THE editor for PP Compiler. It's written by Philippe Guillot who is the creator of the PP Compiler himself.

    PP compiler

There's another pascal RAD compiler similar to PP, but commercial. Not sure if I remember well, it's called "Studio Plus" or something like that. 8 months ago I've tried PP and had problems with it, so I searched Google and found that another RAD tool that was very similar to Delphi (its only problem was lack of OOP support). Just so you'd know

Ah, PocketStudio. I tried this compiler myself. Had a hell of a time trying to get the emulator to work too. :?

Personally I really like this PP Compiler concept. You are programming your portable device with... your potable device! How many handheld devices do you know of that allow this on a programmer's level?

I how this project gains some popularity over time, and maybe with the right audience, as it could prove to be quite the compliment of the evolution of the Palm handheld devices.
