Learning German

Now I can only wonder what kind of response this will bring, BUT here goes...

Does anyone know of a site that I could go to online or of a popular ebook/published book that I could find that had lessons to lean the German language? This is something that I've been wanting to do for some time(to many of my German colligues' delight, I'm sure ), but never found the resources.
