    Potentially fantastic resource...

Whilst perusing the GarageGames site (not Pascal... OI, stop throwing rocks.. )
and I found a link to really cool, although quite young resource.
It's called Digital Boneyard and it aims to redistribute the art for free from dead projects.

So basically, you could go there, find a sound effect, level or 3D model you like, and use it on your game.. without worrying about royalties. Speeds up your development time.

The concept relies on people submitting resources of course.. so I thought, saying as this is a growing game development community, that it would be an ideal place to say.. see what's there and see what you can post.

    The URL is http://www.digitalboneyard.com/index.php

Only submit stuff that you own and don't care about making money from.

FYI: the original Garage Games thread is this:

I agree with cairnswm on this one. It looks like the site has just started. (although the domain name registration date might suggest otherwise)

In any case, if you're interested in free 3d content, like the site above mainly has, this following llink might be more useful: http://www.amazing3d.com/modfree.html

I've uploaded some of my stuff to Digital Boneyard, would like to encourage anyone here to visit and see if they can use anything I've made and post comments (be gentle)

There are some 2D sprites as well as Milkshape models from my failed Anomalous 3D project. I was hesitant to post them before just in case I restarted the project.. but it's highly unlikely.. anyway, I'm working on something else at the moment.

All of the work submitted by anyone to Digital Boneyard is licensed under the same license which allows for royalty free use on commercial or non-commercial projects. So you can be pretty sure you're not going to be getting into any legal issues by using resources from there.

The idea behind Digital Boneyard isn't so much about getting free stuff, but more about contributing to the game development community as a whole. Give & Take.

Like a donar card... I would like someone else's project to live in the event of mine's death.

Have you submitted those files today?

When I go to http://www.digitalboneyard.com/ all I see is a related sites list. Quite possibly the site nolonger exists.

It does exist, but the URL is http://www.digitalboneyard.net/ They must have lost the .com address and re-registered a .net address.
    I didn't notice, sorry.
