    GDC72 - Witching Hour

This weekend was the 72 hour Game Development Contest. I put together a small team consisting of Cairnswm, Savage and Fengol (from the www.nag.co.za game dev community).

None of us had much time - Savage had to work over the weekened, I had visitors and other commitments and Fengol was busy most of the weekend as well.

However we did get something finished:
CellPhone Version (Requires a 128x128 color screen) -23KB

    Windows Version -

I don't think I contributed much to the game to be honest. It was only one unit and most of the time was spent trying to figure out why it would not load the images, when the answer was to plain to see.

Though I have to say it was great to work in a team.

Btw, I downloaded the .jar file and it still has the Vendor Details as MIDletPascal. What's the fire key for the Windows version?

I tend not to work with others on projects because Life has a habit of getting in the way and I hate letting other people down.

I think it's great the you got something written together.

I'm a bit like savage, I don't work on team much, mainly because I'm a control freak when it come to my game ideas  and I have a problem explaining my "vision".

Don't have that problem at work though :?

Perhaps this is the first step into some PGD collaboration projects :?: :?:

Hehe, I understand the control-freak bit. We had our share of disagreements on our project and we were sitting next to each other.

But in the end, when the project is finished, everyone in the team rejoices

Latest info I have on the LD48 is from
    http://www.mechanicalcat.net/tech/ld48/

Which still shows details from April 2005.

The LD forums are down so I dont know if anything else is happening.

Follow up on the LD 48 contest, I got an email this morning with:

    Ludum Dare #8 - April 28th-30th weekend - www.ludumdare.com - #ludumdare
    on irc.afternet.org

We're still in the process of getting it together, but so to avoid the
mishap of a *late* announcement like last time (sorry guys), we've
decided to confirm a date in advance. Continuing with the tradition,
we've still managing to fit a Compo in April. Apologies to those
attending E3 this year, if the date interferes with your preparations.
And yes, over the month we'll be hassling Geoff to posted the results
    for the last one.

I'll send out further updates once we're ready for theme contributions
    and voting.
This was sent to the Gamecompo list - goto www.gamecompo.com to subscribe.
