Submarine & ship sprites for game

    Hi all,
I am trying to make a modern version of one of my favourite c64 games Seafox by Broderbund:
    seafox.gif Seafox_-_1982_-_Brøderbund_Software.jpg

I have gotten permission from the original author of the game to make it, but I'm having trouble making/getting some more modern looking sprites.
The screenshot below is a scaled up version to match a 800x480 (almost) screen, and it has some of the sprites I've been making.

I think I'm fairly happy with the sub and missile sprites, but what do you guys think?
I also have made two mine sprites that will animate between the two states.

I am having trouble making ship sprites to go with them.

My programmer art leaves much to be desired..

    Any ideas would be appreciated

    cheers,
    Paul

Looks good paul, you should go to open game art and see if they can help.

Thanks Carver413...I have already looked there and not much joy on the sprite side I'm afraid

I DID find these blender models here:
    http://opengameart.org/content/blend...-freeciv-units

Maybe I could take some 2d side view shots of the submarine and ship models in blender as sprites, but I can't figure out how to do this even after reading the manual

But then I do like my submarine sprites already and they wouldn't match those...

I used to love that game... not on the C64 though... on the Atari 800

What you've created so far looks pretty good to me.

    When can we play?

    Thanks mate!

EDIT: oh, here are the sprites by themselves before scaled down to fit into the game
