Cool Generous stipends for game-dev start-ups

    Good news everyone!
Generous stipends are available for beginner game developers.

    What is on offer
18-month grant of 2,750 euros per month
    Extensive educational and networking program
    Coaching from games industry experts

    For whom
Fresh founders (founded in the last 18 months)
Soon-to-be founders (start-ups within the next 12 months)
Students planning to graduate by summer 2025

    What is required
At least one game concept or game in the early development phase
Projects can also include serious games, VR/AR/MR and more

Sounds pretty good, doesn't it? Though there is (at least) one catch.

    Who can apply
Game developers with main residence in Germany
Founding project with headquarters in Germany
Individuals, but in combination with up to 2 other team members

Though it doesn't say anything about being a German citizen I guess it would be difficult for most of us here to apply.

Anyway: here is a link to the English language part of the offer.

But hurry. The offer is only valid until 17th of November.

This is indeed interesting opportunity for German game developers or those who wish to become game developer. Unfortunately as you already noted for most of us who live outside Germany as it is aimed at game developers residing in Germany who have either founded a company in Germany in the last 18 months or are planning to do so within the next 12 months.

You can read even more on this grant at:

On the above page there is also a link to a webinar regarding this grad that will be hosted on 30th of October 2024. But unfortunately applications are already closed. Maybe there will be recording of the mentioned webinar available at later time.

As I understand it Pascal got many followers in Germany. Perhaps some of them find it worth applying.

While this fellowship is a great opportunity for beginning game developers, the residency and location requirements in Germany make it likely difficult for developers based elsewhere to apply. That said, there may be ways around this (by creating a team with members based in Germany, for example), or you could explore similar programs in other countries.
