Yes, it does work with other programs, at least with the notepad equivalent in ReactOS. But I really can't complain. The Delphi 3 is almost 30 years old and the ReactOS only in alpha stage.
Still I do try different ways to find a workaround. Maybe there won't be time for the Korean challenge but the 1.44 MB limit is pretty cool and worth pursuing.

Cumbersome but some success made. Workaround in progress.

Workaround ongoing. The good news is that the size limit will not be a problem. Currently the project is att 210 kB. So should be ok. But if finished it will be super simple. Playable but limited. And no in-game fireworks to celebrate success. I should not reveal the gameplay here but I can mention I go for SVGA resolution. 800x600 pixels.

I managed to complete and submit a game. Very limited but fully playable. It fulfills at least two of the three critera. Original work programmed since the announcement of the comptetion. @ ~230 kB well within the size limit. The trird criteria? Is it fun? That's for the jury to decide on.

Apparently there was over 350 submissions. Far more than expected, the organizers say.
I can add that the google submit form blocked .exe files. But the organizers gave me the opportunity to re-submit a zipped file. The contribution should still fit the 1.44 MB limit.

I must say that I'm not very surprised about that. I assumed there will be bunch of submissions since this is so niche challenge.

Nowadays most web pages forbid uploading executable files.
If I remember the challenge guidelines correctly it was suggested that submission be packed into ZIP or other archives but the size limit applies to extracted game.
